Ask Jeeves hired Liquid to develop the brand strategy, the identity, and all of the marketing materials for the launch of its new automated search marketing product. Soon afterwards, the name of the company was changed to Ask.com, and we helped transition to the new product name: Ask Sponsored Listings.
Good work takes talent, smarts, and experience!
Ask Sponsored Listings is the new, automated paid listing service designed to help search engine marketers more effectively reach users of Ask.com and its syndication network. Liquid was commissioned to develop the brand strategy and messaging platform for the launch - and then craft the brand identity, the website design, and the marketing materials needed to introduce the new service.
It's all about results!
Defining a brand in one word is what we call Brand Distillation. In the case of Ask Sponsored Listings, that word is "Results." After all, "results" is exactly what people should expect when investing in an online campaign with Ask.com. The idea of “results” became the driving force behind the various statements that make up the Brand Platform. Of course, results can mean different things to different people - and this gave us the flexibility to craft a detailed messaging strategy that addresses the diverse needs of a variety of audiences.
We developed the brand identity.
As part of the launch process, we developed a unique mark in order to build awareness for the new service. Once the company name changed we modified the logo to reflect the new naming standards. The design of the Ask Sponsored Listings logo incorporates the red bar that has been part of the company’s visual style. The dimensional approach was based on the idea that Ask Sponsored Listings delivers “solid and tangible” results.
The user interface design shapes how people use the product.
A consistent brand experience goes deeper than a logo and a color palette. In this case, it also meant working with the Ask Sponsored Listings team to create a user interface that was approachable and reflected the brand identity.
The website is the online brand.
The majority of the people who ultimately sign up for Ask Sponsored Listings first land on the website. This site was designed to offer the simplest and most streamlined experience possible - and therefore live up to the brand promise of a better experience.
Efficient literature gets to the point.
Liquid developed a set of datasheets that capture the benefits and features of the product. In an effort to build brand consistency, the literature was written in simple, yet authoritative language, helping people to quickly understand how the benefits of on- line marketing with Ask Sponsored Listings.
